Terms and Conditions of Online Sales

Placement of an online order presumes the user’s acceptance of the general terms and conditions applicable at that point in time.
Mu.ZEE vzw reserves the right to refuse an order at all times. A user’s mere expression of the intention to acquire a product is therefore not sufficient to be construed as a sales agreement.

An online order will only be accepted by Mu.ZEE if the user has identified him or herself in a sufficiently clear manner.

The prices of articles specified on the website include VAT, but do not include shipping costs.

Mu.ZEE aims to use the same prices on its website as those that apply in its museum bookshop. The prices at which Mu.ZEE offers its articles are subject to change at any time. The prices charged for orders placed on the website will always be those that apply at the time of ordering.

Articles will be sent to the user at the address specified by the user. The shipping charges to be paid by the user will be clearly specified before the user finalises the order.

If – due to circumstances beyond our control –articles cannot ultimately be delivered by Mu.ZEE vzw within a maximum of 30 calendar days after the placement of the order, Mu.ZEE will inform the user of this by sending notification to the e-mail address specified by the user. In this case, the user may opt to cancel the order. Mu.ZEE will then reimburse the user for any amount already paid for this article. As a result, the sales agreement with regard to these articles will automatically be terminated. Mu.ZEE cannot be held liable for any damage resulting from non-delivery or late delivery.

The user will be entitled to cancel a purchase for a period of 14 days starting on the day after delivery. The user can exercise this right by returning the product, with inclusion of the invoice and a completed return document, to Mu.ZEE vzw, Romestraat 11 – 8400 Ostend, Belgium.

On the condition that the articles are still in perfect condition, Mu.ZEE vzw will reimburse the user for the relevant articles within 30 days of receipt of the return shipment. Mu.ZEE will only accept a return shipment of articles sold in sealed packaging (e.g. multimedia articles, gift vouchers) if this packaging is still unopened. The costs of the return shipment will be borne by the user.

The return of the following items will not be accepted:

Used, dirty, damaged or incomplete articles
Articles whose packaging (or part of it) has been opened
Articles that were custom-made to the specifications of the user
Articles that cannot be returned due to their nature

The user is obliged to notify Mu.ZEE within a reasonable period of any problems encountered with regard to the order or delivery. Complaints will, in any case, only be accepted by Mu.ZEE if they are reported within 7 calendar days of the subject of the complaint being detected by the user. Mu.ZEE will only accept written complaints addressed to its bookshop. Complaints must be sent by e-mail or registered letter to: bookshop@muzee.be or Mu.ZEE vzw, Romestraat 11 – 8400 Ostend, Belgium. In the event of complaints about orders or deliveries, Mu.ZEE’s liability will always be limited to the value of the relevant articles.

The user and Mu.ZEE will accept electronic evidence in the context of their contract.

Gift vouchers are not accepted. They are only valid at the museum shop at Romestraat 11, 8400 Ostend, Belgium.

Intellectual property rights

The content and structure of the website, including all brands, logos, designs, data, product or company names, texts, images etc. are protected by intellectual property rights and belong to Mu.ZEE or third-party right holders. This website is the property of Mu.ZEE vzw, Romestraat 11, 8400 Ostend, Belgium.

Limitation of liability

Mu.ZEE vzw makes every effort to ensure that the information made available on the website is complete, correct, accurate and updated. However Mu.ZEE cannot be held liable for any direct or indirect damage resulting from the use of the information on this website. Images and product descriptions cannot be construed as binding upon Mu.ZEE.

If you should find any inaccuracies in the information made available on this website, we kindly request that you contact Mu.ZEE at info@muzee.be. The content of the website can be altered or supplemented at any time without prior notice or announcement.
